High quality, timeless, and most importantly, comfortable. So, why does it seem that so many furniture manufacturers cut corners with the foam they put in their products. Often, the cheapest foam is used in these products, but unfortunately, this is of the lowest quality, and degrades quite quickly. The most common cause of degradation in these products is due to the low quality of the foam itself. The small cells which make up these cheap foams are weak, and not designed to be constantly compressed. When compressed too much for too long, the cells break down and you are left with a cushion which is thin, and doesn’t bounce back. This is why you may find that especially in seating furniture, the foam becomes uncomfortable and almost unusable, very quickly.
